About Limestone
Limestone is one of the types of stones that is mined in multiple Central Texas quarries. It is a sedimentary rock that makes up almost ten percent of all sedimentary rocks. It is commonly used as a building material for walls, pavement, roads, and decorative uses. Much of Central Texas consists of limestone, which is also what gives us our cave systems. Over time, limestone wears away due to moisture, carving out beautiful cave formations.

Chateau
Chateau is a common cut seen around Hill Country homes. It is various, random shapes and sizes, leaving a more abstract or mosaic look to your home or businesses’ walls.

Tuscany
Tuscany also consists of various sized squares and rectangles, but their form is much more consistent. The stones are cut at random heights, producing a rougher look than the sonoma cute (mentioned below). As the name implies, the cut is found in historical Italian homes and buildings.

Chopped
The chopped cut consists of squares and rectangles that are cut in various lengths and widths. The surface of the stone is “chopped” in order to give it a smooth appearance. It can be lain in various ways in order to show the inner veining of the rock for a unique look.

Ledge
The last cut for stone is a ledge cut. The ledge cut is very even and precise, so that the stone looks like a typical brick shape. It is much more uniform in shape, giving a consistent appeal to the wall.
